HUGGY BEAR

Thanks to "robofagpants" for this upload. Here is some information I found on this rare Huggy Bear release : "This tape, the first official Huggy Bear release, was put out by Wiiija in early 1992. This release is a kind of "best of" (from what i have been told) of all the 4-track recordings the band did throughout 1991/1992. The material on here sounds more like HB than the earlier tapes and a few songs off this appeared on other things in the future. There was a very small amount of this tape made and it was sold at the Rough Trade shop (former home of Wiiija) and at HB shows. It was this demo tape that landed Huggy Bear the split 12" and later tours with Bikini Kill."
Look for more updates soon.

COLEMAN

Coleman still stands as one of my favorite hardcore bands that unfortunately not to many people know about. I originally first heard about them through HeartattaCk fanzine. Shortly after HeartattaCk I picked up their split 12" with Three Studies For A Crucifixion and was hooked immediately with the way they blended seemingly opposite elements like beautiful/ugly and intellectual/primal sounds. Below is a discography that has pretty much everything the band put out. Some of the track names are missing. If someone could help name those songs, give any more info, or post photos of this band please share. For fans of Acrid, Monster X, Orchid, Combat Wounded Veteran, and Reversal Of Man.

WESTON / PLOW UNITED

Weston and Plow United were two of the most exciting pop punk bands in Pennsylvania in the 90s. Both bands shared similarities with their New jersey brother bands Lifetime and The Bouncing Souls. This split 7" was released in 1995 on Coolidge Records. You can find out more about both bands and their other albums by checking out their wiki pages : Weston & Plow United. Weston recently reformed and is playing some shows this month. Check their myspace page to find out more.

ACRID

I was lucky enough to find a CD version of this out of print gem while record shopping in Baltimore last year. If you don't have this download it right away. Acrid was a mid-to-late 1990s Canadian band that focused on the uglier side of hardcore. They mixed hardcore, grindcore, and even black metal sounds into their style. Members went on to play in acts like Grade and the Swarm.

HELP - WESTON

Can someone upload a copy of Weston's hard to find album "Return to Mono" and post a link in the comments? It would be greatly appreciated! I can't find it anywhere. Here some info on the album I found online :

"Left in record label limbo, the band chose Australian-based Rubber Records for their follow-up LP to Matinee. Without any North American distribution, the Return to Mono album was near impossible for most fans to find. Import copies ranged from $30-40, and the band themselves had no copies on the following tours."

SEA OF CORTEZ

Here is a relatively obscure emo/screamo gem. Hailing from Arizona, Sea Of Cortez released this full length in 1998 on Ohio based Voice of the Sky records. For fans of of Engine Down, 400 years, Maximum Colby, Sleepytime Trio, Moonraker, Unwound, and Ordination of Aaron. Highly recommended! If anyone else has anymore info or photos of this band please share it in the comments.
