SONG OF ZARATHUSTRA

Most bands that I post on this blog I will scream and moan how they were so underappreciated... and I'm going to do it again for Song Of Zarathustra. They deserve it more than most. Hailing from Oakland, Song Of Zarathustra fit perfectly in with the California tradition of bands like Angel Hair, Heroin, and even the Locust. They are as abrasive as those bands at times but Song Of Zarathustra's songs are actually catchy and infectious; something their predecessors sometimes avoided at all costs. The photo above was taken by Yolamda. As always, please comment if you like this post.

Just found that post. You're definitely right 'bout Song Of Zarathustra. Though, they sadly don't exist any longer as a band, they were/are underappreciated. But if you like 'em you should as well check out e.g. Amanda Woodward, JR Fuckin' Ewing, Volt, ...

Woah, crazy! I found this blog at random (great job, by the way! Brought back some memories!)

Anyhow, is there a way I can get in touch/email ya? I was in S.o.Z. as well as Chariots(A.N.) and would love to fill in the blanks with the band history. For one, we were from Sioux City, IA, broke up in 98, relocated to Minneapolis and reformed there in 2000. Our guitarist lived in Oakland for a year, so maybe that where some confusion came in.

Regardless, thanks for the props!
