DEATH IN JUNE - Symbols And Clouds

Here are some pictures I took of the new DEATH IN JUNE "Symbols And Clouds" boxset I received in the mail.

This very special soapstone and lazer-engraved granite release assembles onto one CD the best of 1992's “But, What Ends When The Symbols Shatter?” and 1995's “Rose Clouds Of Holocaust” albums plus two rare single tracks from the same period, generally considered one of the high points in Death In June's career. It also includes a second CD featuring re-recorded, stripped-back acoustic “Totenpop” versions of 15 of these classics, recorded shortly after the final tour in June 2005 and mixed and produced in December 2008.

More info about the set can be found here.

It's a beautiful set, but these expensively packaged collections seem to cater to fetishists and collector types; neither of which I qualify. It would be nice to see NER come out with a normal reissue of these titles, or even a reasonably priced 2 cd set.

Needless to say, the music is great.

You should check out the 2 cd set called Discriminate if your looking for a cheaper collection of Death In June stuff. It's a good overview of the bands discography.
