A. C. BHAKTIVEDANTA SWAMI PRABHUPADA

A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in the late 1960's and early 1970's. He became an influential communicator of Gaudiya Vaishnava theology to India and specifically to the West through his teachings. Below is an album of ancient Vedic songs performed by Prabhupada. It's a great album to listen to after a long and stressful day. Give it a try.

yeah, ive read the book Monkey On A Stick. ISKCON had some major problems going on after Prabhupada died in the 1980's. mainly a lot of really bad people took conrol of the organization. Like the old saying goes "even a few bad apples will quickly ruin the whole barrel." Fortunately ISKCON was able to straighten things out due to the efforts of some really good people like Ravindra Svarupa Dasa.

haha, old shelter used to be so good. have you heard the newest record ray released a year or 2 ago? it's pretty awful. the new 108 on the other hand is so amazing. it was one of my favorite records of last year.
i used to be really into the Krishna Consciousness but today I wouldn't call my self a devotee by far. i do relate to the philosophy a lot though and am trying to live my life by it in the best way i can.
for those who have a problem with ISKCON you should check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaudiya_Kutir
it's a group Rob Fish from 108 help start after he dropped out of ISKCON. They also have a message board at :

Hey Metro/Sea... sorry, ive been super busy lately (Quick Quick)

Yes, i was very interested in KC for a while and though I also wouldnt call myself a devotee I am very into the philosophy of it all as well. I could safely say that some of the more ambiguous aspects of KC (read: the ones that seem to have more room for analyisis and less focus on "religion") have greatly shaped me as a person. The Gita remains one of the most powerful practical guides for living that I have ever encountered and I still refer to it year after year.

I also am constantly aware of Karma and good and negative energy and the need for both. I suppose I find my spirituality in a number of things, principally KC, Taoism, Zen Buddhism and to a lesser degree, some aspects of Christianity and Judaism. I think my greatest love is finding the parallels between them all as i feel almost everyone on their own is too organized and doesnt take into account the vast nature of human personality.

thinking about stuff like that keeps me going sometimes and allows me to move fluidly through this world that often times seem built to break us down.

also, new 108 definitely rules. The cover art is amazing too. I have a record rack that hold 9 records in a square on the wall and that is a shoe-in most times...

Hi, there seems to be a problem with the link, not sure if it's megaupload or a problem with the files. Is there any chance of a re-up?

Thanks in advance, Hari Bol! Jaya Prabhupada!
