COLEMAN

Coleman still stands as one of my favorite hardcore bands that unfortunately not to many people know about. I originally first heard about them through HeartattaCk fanzine. Shortly after HeartattaCk I picked up their split 12" with Three Studies For A Crucifixion and was hooked immediately with the way they blended seemingly opposite elements like beautiful/ugly and intellectual/primal sounds. Below is a discography that has pretty much everything the band put out. Some of the track names are missing. If someone could help name those songs, give any more info, or post photos of this band please share. For fans of Acrid, Monster X, Orchid, Combat Wounded Veteran, and Reversal Of Man.

Is there any chance you could put up a link for Three Studies for a Crucifixion as well? I've been looking for it everywhere..

Great blog, by the way!

I second the Three Studies request. I haven't heard it since I sold my entire record collection years ago. I remember seeing them when the singer literally pissed himself during a show (or so goes the rumor). unbelievably great shit.

Thanks for the Coleman!!

Wow! This is totally Awesome... I haven't heard these songs in forever... They're better than I remember! Thanks!

I also would like to hear the 3 Studies stuff again and...

That show where the singer Matt "pissed" himself? Probably it was his catheter or colostomy bag came loose... You see, he was badly beaten when a huge fight happened at a show in Columbus in the early ninties. A bunch of "locals" or college jocks or something ran into a basement show and started attacking people for no apparent reason. Matt was injured very badly and his resulting health and legal troubles dragged out for years... pretty legendary.

Thanks again,

that is not why matt had these health issues. Matt had a gun pulled on him in a parking garage in c-bus ohio while skating. he jumped off the side and landed on concrete, breaking his back.

I was at that show (the three studies neilhouse show)as well and went to high school with matt. The worst injury out of the infamous jock brawl was not matt but chris hedges who had his face broken....

I have this record and will try to rip the three studies stuff soon...
