ANTARCTICA

I first saw Antarctica play in the late nineties at a Halloween show in Philadelphia. The band members were dressed as the crew from Star-Trek. It was not a far stretch since the first thing to come into mind to describe their music is spacey. Their first album "23:03" is a dark and desolate adventure. I can't recommend this record enough. Their second and last record "81:03" saw the band incorporating more 80s synth pop elements to their sound.

Antarctica was pretty impressive, and I get the feeling that if they released their ep and cd two years later, we'd be talking about them in the context of Interpol/The Killers/Insert nostalgic-sounding-modern-retro-New-Wave-band here. Their live shows managed to take their space rock and explode it into something huge. The members have gone on to a new band, Ova Looven.

The Ova Looven CD was great. Do you know if they ever put anything else out besides that CD? Are they still active?

Looks like they put out something new in April, but I haven't heard it yet.

I bought the 23:03 EP at the 1998 More than Music Fest in Columbus, and listened to it for the first time in my friend's car while we were heading west on I-80 to Chicago. It was 2 AM, I had hardly slept during the whole weekend, and when the exploding crystal sounds at the end of the first track came on it started lightning—such an amazing memory. Such a great EP.

metro/sea, the description you gave on 23:03 made me really want to download it. However, it said "The file you requested was removed for violating MediaFire's Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy".

Is there another way i can download this album?
I'd really really appreciate it.
