BOYS LIFE

Boys Life was a Kansas City band in the heart of the mid-ninties "emo" (yeah, we all hate that word) scene. Musically they fall somewhere between Christie Front Drive, Mineral, Fugazi, and The Promise Ring. The lead singer Brandon went on to form the amazing alt-country act Canyon who I posted about in an earlier blog. He is currently working on solo material.

I didn't realize Bob Weston produced it. It's such a great record.
I think my favorite is the self titled record. it has a lot of nostalgic meaning for me.
Has anyone heard the singers solo stuff? I'm interested to hear it.

Haven't heard any of Brandon's solo stuff. I remember seeing Boys Life tour with Giants Chair (Caulfield Records). GC were better live than recorded, me thinks.

I've found a couple of songs on his website but I haven't listened to them yet...

Brandon also played in the Farewell Bend right after Boys Life. Very worth checking out.
