HELLBENDER

Since I mentioned Hellbender in the Milemarker post yesterday I wanted to post their 3 full length albums for anyone interested. Hellbender featured Al Burian who would later go on to perform in Milemarker and Challenger. Hellbender was a completely different beast then the projects Al would later go on to do. Hellbender was more straight ahead rock with hints of pop punk and indie rock. Both "Con Limon" and "Footprint of the American Chicken" are highly recommended. If anyone has any of Hellbender 7"s and compilation tracks in mp3 please get in touch!

Loved these guys. Was lucky to be present when Harrison and Al were living in Providence in the mid 90s. They had another project together, Let's Go Come On, that was similarly great.

nice to see this post! hellbender just sort of showed up one day in my hometown in north dakota and asked if they could play a show with my band. they were moving back from portland, oregon to chapel hill at the time. they came through town two other times after that.

i have a few of their 7-inches including different takes of "fake id" & "song about some girls". con limon is a pure gem.

wells tower (guitar/vocals) is a writer now and has a big following: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWQAL7bhC00

Jonas, thanks for the heads up on Wells--I'm gonna check out his book.

If you ever get around to digitizing those 7 inches...(hint hint)!

I know that it's been ages since you originally made this post, but would there be any chance of you being willing to re-up these links? I've been hunting for the Hellbender records for a while, particularly "Footprint...". but to no avail. Thanks for considering it.
